Kristyn Oldendorf is senior director of public policy and communications for the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), leading advocacy, public affairs, safety initiatives and communications for the organization. She spearheads the SWANA Core Advocacy Group, Safety Ambassadors and Lithium-Ion Battery Workgroup, among other projects.

Before joining SWANA, Kristyn spent more than 10 years working for the city of Baltimore, first in policy and legislation and later supporting waste and resource management operations and leading the Office of Waste Diversion. She also worked in international waste and resource recovery consulting, supporting major companies and organizations with establishing and pursuing waste reduction and diversion goals.
