Manager II/Landfill Operations, Solid Waste, Sarasota County, Florida

Lois Rose is the landfill operations manager for Sarasota County, Florida. She has more than 35 years of experience in the solid waste industry. Her responsibilities include operational oversight of a 1,400-ton-per-day Class I landfill a construction and demolition material recovery facility, and a yard waste processing facility.

During natural disasters, Lois serves as the county’s debris manager, directing the collection, reduction and disposal of disaster debris. Throughout her career, she has managed more than 10 million tons of waste and 8 million cubic yards of disaster debris.

In her free time, Lois enjoys camping with her family, watching or attending NASCAR races and volunteering with the Erik Jones Foundation.
