Patti Hamilton has been part of the Coastal Waste & Recycling team since January 2019. Coastal’s commitment to its core values and culture of accountability was a perfect fit for her focus on sustaining a great culture and building a team of fully engaged employees. A people-first approach has been the foundation of her passion for leadership throughout more than 35 years of executive leadership experience.

Her career spans the automotive, golf, waste management and recycling industries. Her leadership experience includes operations, sales, brand marketing, business development, employee leadership advancement and community affairs. A graduate of Northwood University, she began her career as a district manager with General Motors and spent more than 20 years in leadership roles in the automotive industry.

She began a second career in the waste and recycling industry in 2008 when she joined the executive team at Southern Waste Systems. Patti was instrumental in the strategic planning and operations of all company divisions, with a focus on marketing, community affairs, employee leadership development and legislative affairs.

She has been part of more than 20 contract transition teams, launching municipal franchise contracts with an emphasis on community engagement, intergenerational recycling education and resident communications.

Patti is the recipient of numerous community awards and has held leadership roles in a wide range of nonprofit organizations in South Florida over the past 35 years. She brings her philanthropic spirit to Coastal’s community-minded culture.

Currently, she serves as a member of the National Waste & Recycling Association Women’s Council, Bella’s Angels Advisory Board and the Jupiter Medical Center corporate board. She also sits on the executive committee of Quantum House, where she is the immediate past chair. Patti frequently speaks at industry conferences on recycling, workplace culture and leadership.

She and her husband are proud parents of three adult children.
